In terms of of image I have not used any photography. Taking a picture of smoke and using that instead of the downloadable image would have looked more realistic and added to the cover. Although I haven't use any photography neither has any of the bands that have the name genre that a researched. I have designed a simple stick man smoking that walks along the bottom of album cover. This does appeal to the target audience for this genre of music as they are stereo typically are smokers.
The layout I used is very standard and has followed conventions with the other genre music covers. It has the parental advisory in the bottom corner (it can be in any corner). The masthead is at the top of the page which also follows conventions, along with having on the back the names of the songs centred and the record company's and bar code below this.
The typography I used is a sans serif typeface. It has modern and edgy look to attract the target audience. I smudged the type to follow the path of the smoke to look as if the smoke has formed it.
The colour palette used also follows conventions by using black and white.
Bentley said in 1997; 'The creative process is the rearranging of the old to create the new.'
The age of my target audience is targeted at late teenagers and people in their 20's. I have represented this by following conventions of the other album covers that also have the same age groups as mine.
The gender of the audience is a mixture but may sway toward have a higher percentage of males than females from the rock look. The class would be lower and middle class is it would be stereotypical for the upper class to be interested in other genres of music such as classical.
