Cultural industries (newspapers) follow normal capitalist patterns of increased concentration cultural production is owned by a few conglomerates who vertically integrate across a range of media to reduce risk.
DM- totally supports this because it is owned by Lord Rothermere who is one of the two billionaires in the UK who between them own ¾ of the press. He has reduced risk by vertically integrating to an online paper as well as print.

Risk is high for cultural industries – especially now the internet means stories are shared quickly.
Lord Rothermere doesn’t mind if figures are down a bit

Analysis of Trapped Season 1

Episode 1 Equilibrium- A man ( Hjörtur ) and women ( Dagný ) on a bike riding fast to an abandoned factory where they have created a hideaway to smoke, drink, take drugs and have sex. Typical teenagers/ young people being rebellious riding bikes fast, taking drugs and drinking. Then being punished by being trapped in the fire. Disruption-  When Hjörtur goes downstairs, he discovers that a fire has broken out. He desperately tries but fails to rescue Dagný from the flames. Sin and fire may be linked, symbolism of religion. Then cuts to the opening titles of ice where ice is represented as purity. 7 years later New Equilibrium-  Family ( Agnes's family) having a meal and getting ready. Someone is arriving soon. There was a picture of the girl in the fire on the wall.
